Tourist Attractions in Bowral

Bowral is home to many interesting tourist destinations and attractions. The most popular of these include the Bradman Museum of Cricket, the Don Bradman Oval and the Hopewood Garden.

The Bradman Museum of Cricket was built in memory of Don Bradman, who today is recognised all over the world as an Australian cricket legend. He grew up in Bowral and played most of his games there. There is also a life size bronze statue of Bradman and a garden where he and his wife - Lady Jessie Bradman - had their ashes scattered.

Near the museum is the oval where Don Bradman learnt to play cricket, and where he played most of his club games. The oval is now called Don Bradman Oval, in memory of the Great Australian cricketer.

The Hopewood Garden was made in 1884 and is part of the Hopewood Estate. It is a huge garden, measuring at about twelve acres full of amazing flower arrangements surriunding a small cottage. It is a very popular location for tourism and also for weddings. The garden was awarded the 2003 Heritage award for conservation from the Wingecarribee Shire Council.
